How to Search
The "Search Sites" links above will open in a new window. Most of these have a tabbed option for searching
web,images,video, and maybe audio. Keep in mind, that searching in English might get fewer results than using
the artists 'native' language. I'll give a few examples below, which you can copy n paste into search box.
There are also minor translation effects that can give different results. For example, typing 'Zhanna Friske'
or 'Janna Friske' will bring different results. Or Despoina versus Despina,Vandi or Bandi.Try each one .
Other Languages
The first thing a 'westerner' needs to do is make sure your browser supports the text you want to use in your search.
If the words below look like gibberish, or symbols, you need to set your browsers "character encoding" to ISO-8859-1 .
This will allow you to read english,but also many western european languages, and also non-latin characters,
such as Greek or Russian. For IE, you may need to download additional components.
In Internet Explorer, click the "View" tab,scroll down to "encoding" ,and select ISO-8859-1 .
In Firefox, click the "View" tab,scroll down to "character encoding" and select ISO-8859-1 .
In Opera, the "automatic' mode should work for many languages. Or "View,select "Unicode", and ISO-8859-1.
Also, for some East European languages, the UTF-8 works better.
Examples of Search terms in non-latin characters
People do make mistakes,especially when typing.I have discovered new artists by mis-spelling words.
